Porsche is expected to display both the diesel and hybrid versions of the Panamera at the Geneva Motor Show this March. In a recent AutoNews report, an inside source said that both models are scheduled to arrive before Summer, implying a Geneva show debut. Last year, Porsche also picked out the Geneva Motor Show to show both diesel and hybrid versions of its Cayenne SUV. Similar to the others in its range, the luxury saloon’s new diesel mill should be shared with the Cayenne, indicating that the Panamera Diesel will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 with 240 hp coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid version is expected to have about 380 hp, due to a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 mated to an electric motor.

Together with this debut, Porsche is also expected to make an announcement about the sales of the diesel Cayenne and Panamera in North America. Bernhard Maier, the brand's sales and marketing chief, said that there are internal talks on whether the Cayenne diesel will be introduced in the U.S. this year. It was also pointed out that a Panamera diesel is an option. The Cayenne diesel has been offered in Europe since early 2009, while the gasoline-electric hybrid version has only been introduced last year. Maier also cited that US consumers have been choosing diesel cars for their fuel efficiency.
