
George Wills has been named as the new managing director for Porsche's Middle East, Africa and India sales region. Wills got promoted from his current job as the company's sales chief for the region. He succeeds Deesch Papke, who will be transferred to the company's central sales department to oversee the company's Rest of the World region. The Middle East region is the company's fourth biggest market by unit volume.
It has recently enjoyed strong growth, which is evident in the 20% sales increase to 6,842 units in 2010. On another note, Andre Oosthuizen has also been named as the company's marketing chief for its North American operations, moving from his post as marketing director for the Middle East and Africa region. Prior to joining Porsche in 2007, Oosthuizen held marketing management positions with Ford Motor Co. and Volvo Cars in Southern Africa.
