It’s not a secret that the upcoming Porsche Cajun will use Audi’s new Q5 platform but it appears that the German brand will also provide a powerful V6 twin-turbo diesel engine. This move will not only cut costs but will also bring the Porsche and Audi brands more closely, according to Autocar. The car is expected to receive the popular 3-liter diesel V6 engine delivering 230 kW (313 hp) that was recently unveiled on the 2012 Audi A6 Avant. The twin-turbo has a two-stage turbocharger group that delivers a maximum boost pressure of up to 3.2 bar, imbuing the 3.0 TDI with superior performance.

The V6 diesel engine can push the 2012 A6 Avant from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 5.4 seconds and to a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155.34 mph). The new Porsche Cajun is expected to deliver almost the same performances as the new station wagon. Still, the first crossover to receive this engine is the Audi Q5. This means that diesel engines will get more and more popular, as the 3.0-liter TFSI engine delivers “only” 300 hp or 220 kW.
