Recently, Electronic Arts has been working up quite a bit of hype for its latest addition to the franchise. And to add to the fiasco, Electronic Arts announced that they will be running a promotional contest offering to win a brand spankin’ new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S. No purchase is necessary since all you need to do to enter the giveaway is log into your EA account or register a new one for free if you don’t have one. So you’re passed out in bed and then all of the sudden you wake up to the noise of supercars. You pinch yourself hoping you’re not dreaming and look outside your window only to find over a dozen Porsche prototypes in camouflage. That’s exactly what happened to YouTube used tubemtubeme who managed to film (what we counted) more than twelve 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, Porsche 911 Cabriolet, Porsche Cayman and Porsche Boxster prototypes.  We’re not sure what Porsche engineers were doing in downtown San Francisco with a bunch of Porsche prototypes – but we want their job… now.  More...

Each new Porsche 911 hasn’t always pushed the limits when compare to its predecessors – at least according to us. To make us believe otherwise, Porsche has just released a new video showing how the design of the 911 has evolved from inception to its current generation. The video shows an animation that outlines the the very first generation of the 911 to the new Porsche 911 Carrera S that made its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. While checking out the latest preview trailer for Electronic Art's [EA] limited edition racing game "Need for Speed: The Run", we noticed that among the new cars included in the special package are the Lamborghini Aventador, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S. Since we've already seen the other cars, the surprise here is the new Porsche 911 which makes a very brief appearance in the trailer at around 59 seconds into the video. The wait for the next evolution of the Porsche 911 is almost over. In fact, we’re so close to the launch date that the German firm has just entered the teasing phase releasing the first official video of the sports car shot during hot weather testing in South Africa.
